Professionally built by national award-winner Charles Spencer of Charly's Garage, this 2015 AMBR-contending car began life around a 221ci Model B "banger" engine paired to a 4-speed manual transmission. The engine was built by Taylor Engine shop and features a Serr-Miller overhead valve conversion and has been converted to a crank trigger ignition. Additionally, the engine has a custom intake that supports two side-draft S&S carburetors and completely custom stainless headers and exhaust. The engine has been smoothed and painted matte black with gloss black highlights and lots of polished goodies. It attaches to a '39 transmission that sends drive to a Winters Performance Quick Change rear differential. The body is a '26 Ford Model T that sits on a rectangle chassis. The chassis has semi-elliptical rear springs, a 4-inch drop axle, and custom friction shocks front and rear. The car has a complete belly pan. The Model T has built-in headlight mounts that hide all wiring, and the front brakes are Buick drums with Wilwood brakes mounted inside. The interior is all distressed leather with custom bomber seats and custom Classic Instruments gauges, as well as Von Dutch-style pinstriping. The paint is Axalta Black ChromaPremier base and ChromaPremier clear. The deep black is set off by the red wheels and matte black touches. This car has been featured in Rodding USA magazine.
