1971 Buick GS 455 Convertible

This 1971 Buick GS 455 Convertible has undergone a comprehensive professional off-frame rotisserie restoration to the highest degree. Production records show that only 902 convertibles were manufactured, only a small percentage had AC and even less had the 4-speed gear box. The cowl data tag reveals that the exterior color is Fire Red Code 75, with a black bucket seat interior Code 168 and a black convertible top Code B. The Flint Michigan plant, indicated by the H in the VIN, was designated to be where the very highest performance Buicks were to be built. The 455cid engine casting #1231738 Code TR consists of huge valves, a recurved distributor #1112016 dated OK25, special performance camshaft, high volume fast flow long fuel pump, re-jetted Quadrajet carburetor #7041242, high pressure lubrication system, high compression, posi-traction, and for an appearance aspect, a chrome dress up kit. Buicks cool dual induction and lower front air dam also enhances performance. All this is backed by the Muncie close ratio 4-speed gear box, Hurst shift linkage, 11" super duty clutch and a 3.64 posi-traction rear axle. These components were brought together in Flint and the vehicle was built the last week of June 1971.
